Keep the piece whose chase line is the rarest, even when the other piece's line is better, then Sync the common lines onto it. For +15, enhance a cheap item-level-36 piece and Transfer it onto item-level-86 gear: about 5.3 million Kina instead of 12.6 million.
Keep the rarer line
Say two weapons dropped, one with Combat Speed and one with Damage Boost. In the short term, Combat Speed is the much better line. But you'll want both in the end. Whichever weapon you keep, the other line is still missing, and you Sync until it rolls. The rarer the missing line, the more Syncs it takes:
| Keep the weapon with | Still missing | Chance to roll | Syncs to land it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Damage Boost | Combat Speed | 3.2% | 25 |
| Combat Speed | Damage Boost | 1.6% | 50 |
So keep the Damage Boost weapon: 25 Syncs against 50. You'll want Weapon Damage Boost too, but it takes about 25 Syncs on either weapon, so it doesn't change the choice.
It works the same on every piece. Take gloves as another example: say two dropped, one with Combat Speed and one with Perfect Chance. In the short term, Combat Speed is much better for damage and Combat Power (CP), but you'll want both lines in the end:
| Keep the gloves with | Still missing | Chance to roll | Syncs to land it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Perfect Chance | Combat Speed | 2.4% | 36 |
| Combat Speed | Perfect Chance | 0.96% | 90 |
So keep the Perfect Chance gloves: 36 Syncs against 90.
Each Sync uses up a spare Unique piece, about 1.5 million Kina each, so keeping the rarer line saves:
| Piece | Keep the one with | Syncs for the other line | Kina saved |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weapon | Combat Speed | 50 | |
| Damage Boost | 25 | 37,500,000 | |
| Gloves | Combat Speed | 90 | |
| Perfect Chance | 36 | 81,000,000 |
The same rule on the other slots, for the lines the best stats guide chases. The percentages are each line's chance to roll on a Sync or Reset, as the game's Soul Binding window shows it, not its value:
| Slot | Keep the piece with |
|---|---|
| Guard | Damage Boost (1.6% to roll) over Combat Speed or Weapon Damage Boost (3.2% to roll) |
| Shoulders | Double Chance (0.96% to roll) over Critical Damage Boost (2.4% to roll) |
| Chest | Perfect Chance (0.96% to roll) over Damage Boost (2.4% to roll) |
| Gloves | Perfect Chance (0.96% to roll) over Combat Speed (2.4% to roll) |
| Boots | Perfect Chance (0.96% to roll) over Move Speed (2.4% to roll) |
| Earrings | Move Speed, Might or Precision (1.6% to roll) over Attack (4.8% to roll) |
| Ring | Might or Precision (1.6% to roll) over Attack (4.8% to roll) |
On the helmet, cape and pants both chase lines have a 0.96% chance to roll, so keep the better one: Double Chance on the helmet and cape, Attack increase on the pants. On the necklace, Combat Speed, Might and Precision all have a 1.6% chance to roll, so keep the better one there too.
The Syncs to land a line depend only on its chance to roll. On average, onto a piece with none of it yet:
| Chance to roll | Lines | Syncs on average |
|---|---|---|
| 0.96% | Double Chance, Perfect Chance, Attack increase | 90 |
| 1.6% | Damage Boost on the weapon and guard; Move Speed, Might and Precision on accessories; Combat Speed on the necklace | 50 |
| 2.4% | Critical Damage Boost, chest Damage Boost, gloves Combat Speed, boots Move Speed | 36 |
| 3.2% | Combat Speed and Weapon Damage Boost on the weapon and guard | 25 |
| 4.8% | Attack on the earrings and ring | 17 |
The level 36 route
Item-level-36 to 41 Unique gear, such as Fantasy (36), Spectral and Courage (41), rolls the same lines as item-level-86 gear, such as Nuakum and Enraged Kromede, at the same chances. Every fresh piece is a new roll: its four lines appear on its first Soul Binding, for one Bind (30,000 Kina and 10 Soul Codex). Save your Soul Binding Resets for accessories: Courage has item-level-41 accessories, but they're mostly absent from the Market, so there's no cheap low-level route for them.
- Buy item-level-36 to 41 pieces of the slot you want on the Market, at roughly a million Kina a piece, or farm them in the fields and the Abyss (where each drops).
- Soul Bind each once to see its lines, and keep the one with the rarest chase line.
- Sync more lines on only if it already has one or two chase lines and you want more, using the spares as material: any Unique piece works, from any slot.
- Enhance it to +15 (costs below).
- Transfer it onto a fresh item-level-86 piece of the same slot, such as Nuakum or Enraged Kromede: +0 and never Transferred onto. A weapon only Transfers onto the same weapon type, a greatsword onto a greatsword. It takes 1 Transfer Stone onto crafted gear and 2 onto Abyssal, Enraged Kromede and Nuakum gear; make them from your leftover spares in Substance Morph. The enhance level and Soul Binding lines move; the Gear Transfer guide has the rules.
- Soul Fuse it only if you'll keep it a while, such as a piece you won't replace soon: Soul Fuse doesn't transfer, so it's lost when you move the lines on.
What +15 costs
Enhancing has the same chances at item level 36, 41 and 86, and a failure keeps your level and adds 5% to the next tap. Average Kina per level, failures included:
| Level | Chance | Item level 36 | Item level 86 |
|---|---|---|---|
| +1 to +10 | 100% | 325,400 | 775,100 |
| +11 | 65% | 188,896 | 461,085 |
| +12 | 50% | 349,466 | 836,488 |
| +13 | 35% | 736,495 | 1,755,883 |
| +14 | 25% | 1,454,559 | 3,424,274 |
| +15 | 20% | 2,260,015 | 5,376,096 |
| Total | 5,314,832 | 12,628,926 |
And the Enhance Stones:
| Level | Item level 36 | Item level 86 |
|---|---|---|
| +1 to +10 | 12,960 | 30,920 |
| +11 | 4,893 | 11,676 |
| +12 | 6,971 | 16,618 |
| +13 | 10,291 | 24,582 |
| +14 | 14,303 | 34,152 |
| +15 | 17,909 | 42,803 |
| Total | 67,328 | 160,752 |
From +10, it averages about 12 taps. At item level 41 (Spectral, Courage), +0 to +15 averages 6.0 million Kina and 76,667 Enhance Stones. The saving per piece is about 7.3 million Kina and 93,000 Enhance Stones, less the item-level-36 piece and its Transfer Stones. Put the spare Enhance Stones into Amplify Stones in Substance Morph: each takes 2,500 of them and 4 Amplify Stone Fragments (Unique), as in the gear score guide. Bind and Reset cost the same at both item levels.
FAQ
Should I keep a weapon with Combat Speed or Damage Boost? Damage Boost, even though Combat Speed is the better line for now. You'll want Combat Speed and Weapon Damage Boost on it too, and Damage Boost is half as likely to roll, so it saves about 25 Syncs: about 37.5 million Kina at 1.5 million a spare Unique piece.
Is Reset cheaper on item-level-36 gear? No. A Reset costs 300,000 Kina and 3 Soul Codex: Reset at both item levels. Save Resets for accessories, which have no cheap low-level route; on other gear, roll fresh pieces and Sync.
Is a Sync Stone better than a spare Unique piece? No: either gives 100% on Unique gear, from any slot. Use spare pieces first.
Should I enhance or roll the lines first? Roll first: pick the piece by its lines and Sync the rest onto it, then enhance it and Transfer it.
How much does +15 cost in Aion 2? About 12.6 million Kina and 160,752 Enhance Stones on item-level-86 Unique gear, or 5.3 million and 67,328 on item-level-36 gear you then Transfer, on average.
Do Soul Binding lines move with Gear Transfer? Yes, with the enhance level. The Soul Fuse line and the stones in the sockets don't.
Can I choose which lines survive a Transfer onto a three-line weapon? No. A piece with fewer lines keeps that many at random, so an Enraged Kromede weapon takes three of an item-level-36 weapon's four. Transfer onto an Abyssal or crafted weapon to keep all four.
Sources: Global client launcher version 32, read 29 October and 3 November 2026 (the Item, Enchant and SoulBindCost rows used here are unchanged since version 31): each line's chance to roll (Item, item-level-86 pools, less the 20% of each roll that goes to skill lines, matching the game's Soul Binding window on a weapon, gloves and earrings; the Syncs to land a line are simulated averages, as in the best stats guide), the lines on item-level-36 and 41 gear (Item; Fantasy, Spectral and Courage), Bind and Reset costs (SoulBindCost) and the enhance chances and costs (Enchant; averages assume each failure keeps the level and its bonus builds until a success, as in the gear score guide). Transfer's rules: the Gear Transfer guide. An item-level-36 piece's Market price, and a spare Unique piece's 1.5 million (it varies by server), are from our own play. Our calls, judged on the chances and the cost tables: keeping the rarer line, since you'll want all of a slot's chase lines in the end; Syncing on item-level-36 gear only once a piece has one or two chase lines; and saving Resets for accessories.
