From the Global client, launcher version 27 · Updated
For every class and both factions on the Global release.
Hidden Cubes are small chests hidden around Verteron and Altgard. On Global every one needs a key, and a cube opened with a key always pays 1,000 Soul Crystals and 10 to 12 Silentium: about 555,000 Kina of goods. There are far more cubes than keys, so this guide shows every way to get a key, what a cube drops, what a key is worth and where the cubes are.
Open every cube you find, and take the free keys first. 52 keys are free, once each, and the two maps hold over 550 cubes at a time that keep coming back. You'll run out of keys long before you run out of cubes.
How Hidden Cubes work
- Every cube in Verteron and Altgard needs a key. Without one it won't open.
- Your cubes are your own. A cube another player opens is still there for you.
- Cubes come in groups of spots, one cube for every five. Verteron has 95 groups and Altgard 59, each of 3 to 30 spots. A 10-spot group has 2 cubes out at a time and a 30-spot group 6, each at one of its spots, so a spot you found one at may be empty next time. That's over 550 cubes at a time across the two maps. 8 of Verteron's groups and 3 of Altgard's are underwater.
- Neither the map nor the minimap shows a cube. The Seed of Detection a cube drops detects stealthed players, not cubes.
- Opening takes 4 seconds, and the cube is gone. There's no fixed timer: the client gives each group a respawn delay of 1 minute to 1 hour (up to 1.5 hours in Ellun River), so a new cube appears at one of the group's spots at a random time in that window.
- Listen for its hum. A cube waiting to be opened plays a looping hum you can hear up to 130 m away, measured in a straight line, so turn your sound effects up. It fades only a little by 60 m, so follow it until it gets louder. It stops when you start opening the cube.
Eltnen and Morheim have cubes too, some opening without a key, but neither is open on Global yet.

What a Hidden Cube drops
A cube opened with a key always pays the first six: Soul Crystals, Silentium, Soul Codex, a Seed of Detection and one of the two Power Shards. Each of the rest rolls on its own, so one cube can pay several.

What a key is worth
| Reward | Each cube | Worth in Kina |

Soul Crystals are Bound, so they can't be sold. With membership you can buy them at 500 Kina each, up to 1,000 a week for your server, so a keyed cube saves a member 500,000 Kina; without membership no shop sells them for Kina. They level your pets' Genus boards: 1,000 is 250 Analyze rolls and 25,000 Genus EXP, a tenth of a board, though the rolls cost 250,000 Kina on top. Any shop buys Silentium for 5,000 Kina (Bound) each.
- Spend every free key. Each one is worth about 555,000 Kina of goods.
- Out of keys but still farming cubes? The Quna shop sells 3 a day for 50 Quna each. On the Quna Exchange 50 Quna buys about 135,000 Kina in Kina Chests (148 Quna for a 400,000 chest on 9 October), so such a key costs about a quarter of what its cube pays. A key's value is mostly Soul Crystals, so it pays most while your Genus boards are levelling.
- Never sell a key. A shop pays 10,000 Kina for it.
Where the cubes are

Sources: Global client data (launcher version 27, read 9 October 2026) for where cubes are placed (the map files' spawn lists), how a cube opens (EnvObjData), the keys each cube takes and every key source (QuestReward, AchievementReward and its category rewards, RewardMonolith, GameShopGoods, BMShopGoods, RewardPackage), the titles, the loot (the key reward's RewardItem and RewardPackage rows), sell prices (Item) the members' Soul Crystal listing (BMShopGoods) and the cube's sounds and how far they carry (its Wwise sound banks, at 100 units a metre). Checked in game on our own characters: cubes are per player, more than one can be up at once, none opens without a key, the minimap doesn't show them, the two titles (the screenshots), and the Quna Exchange's Kina Chest prices. Cubes out at once per group are the spawn count on each group's spawn actor in the zone's level files; Corpus's map gives the same counts. The respawn delay is our reading of two unnamed values on the same actors (60 and 3,600, or 5,400 in Ellun River), which the client's older schema places beside its minimum and maximum spawn interval; we read them as seconds. Other guides: Corpus's Hidden Cube guide for the approach, and MetaBot on cube groups. Our calls, judged on Kina: spend every free key; the Quna keys are an option once those run out, priced against the Quna Exchange's Kina Chests on 9 October.
